The Most Beautiful Hotels in Paris 4th Arrondissement

Le Marais is one of the most iconic districts in Paris. It owes its name to the marshlands formed by a former branch of the Seine River. Today, this historic neighborhood is home to numerous museums, and at the corner of Barras and Grenier-sur-l'eau streets, you can still admire three typical medieval houses dating back to the early 14th century. During the 18th century, Le Marais became the preferred address of aristocratic families who built magnificent hôtels particuliers (private mansions). Today, luxury hotels compete in charm and originality to attract design lovers and history enthusiasts seeking a stay in this prestigious area of Paris 4th arrondissement.

SO/ Paris

Located on the banks of the Seine, SO/ Paris, inaugurated in 2022, makes a bold statement. This first French flagship of the SO/ collection by Ennismore (The Hoxton, 25hours, Mama Shelter, Mondrian…) features 162 rooms and suites spread between the 7th and 14th floors of a former administrative building. The interiors contrast beautifully with the building’s austere exterior. With a subtle 60s-inspired design, rooms offer generous spaces ranging from 43 to 57 sqm, up to 128 sqm for the spectacular SO Paris Suite on the 14th floor, boasting breathtaking views over the capital. Decorated in shades of blue enhanced with yellow and coral accents, the rooms are both elegant and vibrant. For the ultimate experience, book one of the Collection rooms overlooking the Seine and Paris landmarks. Even better ? The Atelier Suites, inspired by Montmartre artist studios, overlooking the rooftops of Paris. The hotel also features a 24/7 fitness center on the 7th floor with a 20-meter swimming pool, state-of-the-art equipment, and a spa by Maison Codage with two treatment rooms — making it one of the most beautiful hotels in Paris 4th arrondissement.

Highlight : The stunning panoramic view from the Bonnie restaurant by Paris Society, located on the 15th and 16th floors.

From €491 per night. SO/Paris, 10 rue Agrippa d'Aubigné, Paris 4e

Cour des Vosges

The only hotel on Place des Vosges, Cour des Vosges, owned by Evok group (Brach, Nolinski), is truly exceptional. Its history dates back to 1654 when it was the residence of the Marquis de Montbrun — a perfect example of aristocratic passion for Le Marais. More private mansion than hotel, this five-star property offers just 12 rooms and suites. Architects Yann Lecoadic and Alessandro Scotto blended 17th-century classicism with 1970s style, creating a unique atmosphere where exposed beams and period terracotta floors coexist with contemporary canopy beds, Pipistrello lamps, and stainless-steel tables. Although the hotel has no restaurant, the neighborhood is filled with excellent dining options, and some suites include mini kitchens. The vaulted relaxation area features a Roman bath — ideal for unwinding after exploring Paris.

Highlight : The breathtaking view over Place des Vosges, the oldest planned square in Paris commissioned by Henri IV in 1605.

From €646 per night. Cour des Vosges, 19 place des Vosges, Paris 4e

Le Grand Mazarin

Located steps from rue de Rivoli and Hôtel de Ville, Le Grand Mazarin is the first urban hotel by Maisons Pariente — and it stands out with its exuberant, colorful interior design by Swedish architect Martin Brudnizki. Across 61 rooms (including 11 suites), classic elements such as canopy beds, silk lampshades, herringbone parquet floors, and Lucien Gau rugs meet a bold rainbow palette. Bathrooms are equally vibrant. The Boubalé restaurant celebrates Mediterranean flavors infused with Levantine and Turkish spices. The hotel’s spectacular spa features a 17-meter mosaic-tiled pool crowned by a fresco by Jacques Merle, alongside a hot tub, hammam, fitness room, and treatment cabin. For evening drinks, head to Le Petit Bazar, the stylish underground bar known for its curated playlist.

Highlight : The magnificent Suite Mazarin, which can connect to additional rooms to host up to five guests, featuring a separate living room and marble bathroom with shower, bathtub, and hammam.

From €575 per night. Le Grand Mazarin, 17 rue de la Verrerie, Paris 4e

Hôtel du Jeu de Paume

Set in a listed historic building in the heart of Île Saint-Louis, just 500 meters from Notre-Dame de Paris, this 4-star hotel occupies what was once the last royal tennis court built in 1634 at the request of Louis XIII. In 1987, architect Guy Prache transformed the space into a hotel while preserving its remarkable 17th-century beams and stonework. After passing through a discreet archway and cobbled courtyard, guests discover impressive interior volumes and curated art collections. The 30 uniquely designed rooms were redesigned in 2010 in a contemporary style while maintaining original features such as exposed beams and stone walls. Many overlook the interior garden, some are duplex, others connecting, and one even offers a private terrace. Amenities include a bar, room service, and a wellness area with hammam, sauna, massage bed, showers, and fitness room.

Highlight : Two spacious apartments with two and three bedrooms, offering the chance to live in Paris like a true Parisian.

From €219 per night. Hôtel du Jeu de Paume, 54 rue Saint Louis en l’île, Paris 4e

Le JoBo

Located near musée Carnavalet in the heart of Le Marais, Le JoBo pays tribute to Empress Joséphine. Interior designer Bambi Sloan drew inspiration from the flamboyant style of the First Empire. Housed in a former 17th-century convent, the hotel is filled with Empire symbols: a Directoire-style lounge bar, leopard prints (a nod to Joséphine’s famous leopard, rug), roses — her favorite flowers — and furniture inspired by her era. The 24 rooms feature reissued historic wallpapers such as La Cocarde, Roses et Dentelles, and La Folie Monceau, alongside swan-neck furniture and parquet-effect carpets. Standout rooms include 405 with black-and-white toile de Jouy walls and 105 with bold leopard print decor. There is no restaurant, but the elegant lounge bar serves wines, champagne, cocktails, and gourmet plates including charcuterie, aged cheeses, and Noir de Bigorre ham.

Highlight : Graphic black-and-white marble mosaic bathrooms inspired by Ancient Greece — another theme dear to Joséphine.

From €306 per night. Hôtel de Jobo, 10 rue d’Ormesson, Paris 4e
