5 girl power podcasts that inspire us

No more excuses not to spark an engaging debate about new models of masculinity, mental load, or the expectations still placed on women today. Podcasts – a format you can listen to anywhere, anytime – have become one of our best allies for deepening our thinking around a key topic: what it means to live as a woman today. And gentlemen, you’re obviously more than welcome to join the conversation.

From life stories told by incredible grandmothers to deep dives into masculinity, inspiring female journeys, understanding how we love, or an unfiltered look at motherhood, here are our 5 favorite girl power podcasts : to listen to without moderation.

Mamie dans les orties

The concept ? Mamie dans les orties collects the stories of our grandmothers to better understand where we come from, and where we’re going. Through our headphones, we hear the voices of women from the second half of the 20th century, discovering what it truly meant to be a woman in our grandmothers’ time. From the first women allowed to vote, to divorce, to have an abortion, or even to own a checkbook in their own name, we never tire of listening to these experience-filled voices recount the beginnings of a freer daily life. The idea: going back to our roots to fully grasp how far women’s rights have come today.

Our favorite episodes ? Even though choosing among these incredible grandmothers is nearly impossible, the episode featuring Marie-Jo, titled Marie-Jo, se libérer, really puts things into perspective. From a childhood under male domination to a life shaped by the social norms of the time, Marie-Jo speaks with moving sincerity about her desire for emancipation in a world that offered very little choice. A podcast guaranteed to be as emotional as it is full of life lessons : ideal for understanding how much ground women have gained.

Les Couilles sur la Table

The concept ? Every Thursday, Les Couilles sur la Table, hosted by Naomi Titti or Tal Madesta, explores one aspect of masculinity with its audience. Each roughly 50-minute episode is both extremely well-structured and deeply informative, almost like a crash course on one of the most complex subjects out there : men. Why are there so many femicides ? How can beaches and palm trees turn some into full-blown macho stereotypes ? How should we respond to #NotAllMen ? What about vasectomy ? After listening to them all, our understanding of relationships between genders becomes much clearer.

Our favorite episodes ? Our number one pick remains the two episodes titled Sex-Symbols: ces mecs qu’on fantasme. Probably because they put words to why we’re drawn to “nice guys” while turning away from ultra-virile bad boys with huge muscles. From Timothée Chalamet and his baby face, to Johnny Depp and his embraced femininity in Pirates des Caraïbes, or Tom Holland and his 1m70 height, a whole lineup of Hollywood sex symbols 2.0 that perfectly illustrates the new codes of masculinity after decades of domination. Proof in audio form that even our taste in men can be explained through history.

Le Cœur sur la Table

The concept ? Since everyone needs free relationship advice, we head straight to another podcast from the Binge Audio editorial team, created by Victoire Tuaillon : Le Cœur sur la Table. Through short, accessible documentary-style episodes, one universal feeling is explored from every angle : love. Whether family, friendship or romantic love, this complex and often hard-to-define emotion is examined through intimate stories, sociological analysis and feminist reflections. The result ? We finally understand how our lives and experiences shape the way we love. Almost as effective as a therapy session.

Our favorite episodes ? A total favorite : the episode series La dialectique du calbute sale. The starting point ? A pair of underwear left on the bathroom floor. From this ultra-familiar yet not-so-trivial situation, each episode breaks down the dynamics between men and women. Why does he leave early in the morning ? Why does he send a breakup text offering to leave his underwear behind ? A dirty-laundry story to understand what’s going on inside the mind of the person wearing it. A brilliant series that feels like a real wake-up call : and one we should send to everyone we know.

Paroles de Femmes

The concept ? Structured like a series, this podcast hosted by journalist Clémence de Bernis features 10 episodes per season and gives the floor to women from all walks of life who share one thing in common : an inspiring journey. Each episode is unique – sometimes fun, sometimes deeply moving – depending on the guest. Famous or anonymous, orchestra conductor or astronaut, each woman talks about both her professional and personal experiences, delivering a powerful motivational boost to listeners. Guaranteed inspiration.

Our favorite episodes ? A big favorite is the episode with actress Béatrice de la Boulaye, whose sharp humor and wit allow her to tackle even the most serious topics. From misogyny to sisterhood moments and even breast cancer, nothing is left unsaid in this heartfelt conversation. Honorable mention goes to paralympic champion Marie-Amélie Le Fur, whose extraordinary journey is a true lesson in resilience. Together, these two episodes take us from laughter to tears in no time.

Bliss Stories

The concept ? Bliss Stories explores motherhood in all its dimensions : without filters or taboos. Through honest and unrestrained testimonials, the podcast tackles a topic that is still overly idealized and often anxiety-inducing. Pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum: nothing is left out. Its greatest strength ? Its ability to relieve guilt and remind us that motherhood is not innate.

Our favorite episodes ? The episode featuring Tara D’Arson says it all with its title: Je vais être une mauvaise mère. It speaks to the universal fear of not being good enough : whether you’re a mother or not. Special mention for the episode with Chloé Bruhat, who opens up about finding her place as a mother in a lesbian couple without having carried the child : a topic still rarely discussed in the media. Perfect to listen to during the nine months of pregnancy, to approach motherhood with a clearer mindset, or simply to satisfy your curiosity.
