In the Luberon, dream hotels follow one after another, offering high-end services, cosy rooms, and lush outdoor spaces that pay tribute to Pagnol’s Provence. You can almost hear the cicadas from here! Among them, these five addresses caught our attention, possessing everything a city dweller seeking authenticity and calm could desire. Elegant allure, sun-drenched dining, gardens planted with olive trees, cypresses, or laurels, and exceptional spas: please do not disturb.
La Bastide de Marie
The Luberon Regional Nature Park holds many beautiful surprises. Among them, La Bastide de Marie, in Ménerbes, sits proudly in the middle of 26 hectares of vineyards. This 18th-century farmhouse has become, under the guidance of the Sibuet family, a 5-star hotel combining the charms of a family home with those of Provence: a lovely program! In the 14 rooms and suites, all unique, one finds elegant tones ranging from white to lime green with touches of ochre, grey, mauve, and blue, alongside lime-washed walls and antique furniture sourced in the region by Jocelyne. The highlight? The Marie Suite, consisting of a bedroom and a lounge area that can accommodate two children. Finally, the aperitif is a must: in a convivial atmosphere, you can taste several Provencal delicacies washed down with wines from the estate. In the dining room, under an exposed beam ceiling or in the shade of a lime tree, the menu highlights simple recipes and creative pairings celebrating local flavors. Last but not least: the spa, featuring 2 cabins, offers rituals inspired by the region by Pure Altitude, including the brilliant Provence Energetic Ritual. Two swimming pools complete the offer of this place with a bucolic atmosphere, making it the ideal destination for a stay booked during the May bank holidays.
The plus: a few steps from the main building amidst the vines, Villa Grenache is THE great idea for a stay with friends, with its 170 m², 5 bedrooms, dining room, fully equipped kitchen, large living room, and outdoor area... with a pool, of course. Ultimate options: the Vermentino farmhouse with 6 bedrooms and the 5 bedrooms of Villa Syrah.

Domaine de Fontenille
This authentic early 17th-century bastide, which became a 4-star hotel in 2016, sits 25 minutes from Aix-en-Provence in a park planted with plane trees, century-old cedars, lavender, olive trees, hydrangeas, and roses... all surrounded by 40 hectares of vineyards. The first opus of the Domaines de Fontenille collection and a member of Relais & Châteaux, this estate stays true to its Provencal identity throughout its connecting lounges on the ground floor and its 21 bright rooms and suites. The latter, opening onto the gardens and the Luberon mountains, feature classic decor: tones of beige and white, antique furniture, and wooden parquet floors harmonize with contemporary artworks brightening the walls. We love the small room in the old washhouse, with a terrace providing access to the gardens. All that remains is to indulge in farniente around the superb swimming pool before visiting the cellars or heading off for a picnic in the vineyards. Located on the terraces of the Bastide, under the shade of the plane trees, the restaurant La Cuisine d’Amélie highlights cuisine inspired by the Provencal terroir and the Domaine's vegetable garden through a bistronomic menu that changes with the seasons, accompanied by organic wines from the estate. Final benefit: the bespoke treatment offer, following Susanne Kaufmann protocols: natural products and rituals inspired by Alpine traditions.
The plus: participate in an introductory wine-tasting workshop (€60) to discover the core principles. After a presentation of the AOP Luberon, you will learn to use your senses to recognize different wine aromas and how to choose a wine based on the dish served.

Coquillade Provence
Not far from Sénanque Abbey, this former 11th-century hamlet has become a 5-star hotel, presiding over lavender fields and vineyards. Voted the best resort in France in 2022 and a member of Relais & Châteaux, the 21 rooms and 42 suites of Coquillade Provence are scattered throughout the various houses of the hamlet. The 5 new Luberon suites, ranging from 60 to 150 m² and named Cyrène, Ida, Elysia, Daphné, or Cassiopée, are equipped with hydrotherapy baths installed on their respective terraces. All showcase antiques from L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, the European capital of antique dealers, as well as unique pieces crafted by local artisans. Families favor the 800 m² villa with 6 bedrooms and a swimming pool. The hotel also offers three pools, a 2,000 m² spa with a sauna, hammam, outdoor hot tubs, sensory shower, Kneipp bath, and an indoor pool where treatments focus on vinotherapy, phytotherapy, and oriental rituals. Two restaurants are available: for dinner, Les Vignes & Son Jardin offers refined bistronomic cuisine inspired by the vegetable garden and Provence, while you can have lunch at Cipressa, nestled by the pools, which features vitello tonnato, pissaladière, salads, and wood-fired Neapolitan pizzas on its menu... Not forgetting the L’Ange Bleu poolside bar.
The plus: Andreas Rihs, the late cycling and wine enthusiast, created this place to develop wine tourism and cycling excursions! A cyclist's paradise, the hotel offers rentals for all types of bikes: racing, mountain, road, electric, as well as children's models... Perfect for an unforgettable nature weekend.

Le Couvent des Minimes, a Hotel & Spa L’Occitane en Provence
Imagine that this 5-star hotel is housed in a 17th-century convent occupied until 1999 by a community of Franciscan sisters who created sublime gardens dedicated to Mediterranean species. Closed in 2020, this Luberon hotel, a member of Relais & Châteaux, reopened in the summer of 2023 after more than two years of renovations. Architect Anthony Micoud, responsible for the work, radically transformed the premises, as evidenced by the entrance through the chapel, which has become a vast, light-filled lounge with 10-meter-high ceilings! Of the 49 rooms and suites ranging from 40 to 71 m², 34 are located in the historic section, 8 others occupy the roof of the new building housing the spa, and 7 rooms are located on the restanque side. The two restaurants offer two distinct atmospheres. Le Feuillée, which has held a Michelin star since 2024, is the domain of MOF chef Louis Gachet, who delights his guests with cuisine featuring Provencal flavors spiked with touches of Burgundy, a nod to his home region. More accessible, the friendly bistro Pamparigouste celebrates the fragrances of Provence.
The plus: the L’Occitane en Provence spa, comprising two areas over 2,500 m². The dry zone includes 10 cabins (including 2 for couples), a fitness room, a yoga room, a relaxation area, and a bar-restaurant area. The wet area houses an indoor swimming pool, an outdoor Nordic pool, two saunas (70°C and 90°C), two sensory showers, a hammam, an indoor multi-sensory pool, a cyclone shower, and a salt cave. Perfect for a spa getaway.

Set in a park planted with century-old olive trees, it houses 29 rooms and suites, some with terraces, ranging from 17 m² to 50 m² for the largest suite, which can accommodate 2 adults and 2 children. For couples, the most pleasant are the 35 m² rooms featuring a beautiful terrace and a swimming pool. Throughout, you'll find ceiling beams, parquet, or terracotta tiles; the walls are dressed in light shades for a result that is both contemporary and warm. In a secluded corner of the garden, a 58 m² villa with 2 bedrooms, a living room, and a fully equipped kitchen proves ideal for 4 adults, offering the added benefit of hotel services. Open in the evening, the restaurant also serves lunch in July and August. With a massage cabin, a hammam, and a heated indoor pool, the Spa by Omnisens adds a final highlight to this both chic and relaxed hotel.
