Le Point Éphémère

Geographical location: right next to the mythical firehouse and to the Stalingrad Rotonde, no need to mention Point Éphémère, its amazing terrace and underground program. Cool: they have just turned over their ovens to Antonin Girard, former chef at Muxu and its brigade of buddies from Animal Records, the multi-faceted label that always comes up with  food and sound nuggets.

The small plus? This place with a very Berlin style ambiance features a rooftop, like a small hanging garden right in the middle of Paris.

Who does one run into? The French independent and electro scene that comes to chill along canal Saint Martin, notably the up and coming newcomers of the Animal Records label such as Bloum or Stand Wise.

À la carte: a pop menu with Asian inspirations at very affordable prices (12€). Yummy: fresh pea soup with mint (5€) and sesame bun with lacquered black pit (10€). Heart-throb for the banana cake and its runny caramel mousse (4€)...

We like the tasting menu at 35€, a wide array of tapas to share with the buddies: guacamole avocado-yuzu, wild beef empanadas, nuggets of fresh goat cheese and piquillos. Must taste: their home made sweet potato fries, a killer !

Animal Kitchen at Point Éphémère 7/7, ongoing service from 12:30pm to 11pm, brunch on Sunday until 4pm (20€). Terrace accessible by reservation, on the website/the Facebook page of the establishment or directly at the bar.

Pint of beer at 6,50€, glass of wine 3,50€, bottle of wine from 18€ to 34€.
