We no longer need to introduce you to this historical monument solidly implanted on the upscale rue de Sèvres where one can easily run into Guillaume Canet or Jean Louis Debré…
Very good news for fans of mundane bistros, this sleeping beauty has been awakened and sparkles with chic and shiny assets since its’ Jean Louis Costes (owner of l’Hôtel, la Société) who has taken over with his army of faithful star clients at attention.
No radical change on the program: newspapers at the bar, and the same old-fashioned decor, balloon glasses for the red wine, the same Left Bank locals, phew, the theatrical logistics of the classic bistro and the local soul have been preserved.
What’s new? The terrace is larger, the doors of the bistro are open with in the widow very pretty Saint Germain twigs, cute gals and dandies that are in full swing of « Parisian life». The menu also features new starlets: buffala (12€), fried squid with spicy sauce (12€) and Pavlova with red fruit (12€) !
On the program of trendy dishes: a sea bass carpaccio with ginger and lemon (14€), a tomato and melted goat cheese tart (14€), 6 big snails from Burgundy (12€), the traditional raw tartare (21€), veal scallop with cream and mushrooms (24€) or roasted salmon and its Caesar dressing (22€) and finally a lemon meringue pie (9€) or fraise melba (10€) !
