The Trendy Bistro Bringing the Tuileries Back to Life

Looking for the perfect spot for a business lunch or a girls’ night out? Head to Le Sand, the latest opening from the team behind Alfred and Alfi’s. Nestled on Rue du Mont-Thabor, this third address from the foodie quartet behind two of Paris’s hottest tables once again hits the mark—this time with a whole new vibe. After the success of their chic brasserie and Italian concept, the group takes over a stunning space and unveils Le Sand, a friendly néo-bistrot paying tribute to Alfred de Musset’s muse.

The new local hotspot

Inside, it’s all about refined details: wall tapestries, lacquered wood, and subtle Japanese accents. The warm, attentive service stands out from the often-stuffy spots around Place Vendôme. The menu changes regularly to keep regulars coming back, but here’s what caught our eye during our visit: playful ’80s-style shrimp cocktail (€16), bluefin tuna crudo with tahini and ponzu (€22), a clever stracciatella, edamame & fig combo (€14), and pan-seared scallops with pumpkin cream and dashi (€28). The verdict? Every dish is smartly crafted, indulgent, and perfectly balanced.

Special mention for the expertly shaken cocktails like the Cyrus (Italicus, St-Germain, agave, mandarin, €18) and a fiery Spicy Margarita (€16). Even the mocktails are top-notch, and the wine list features a cool selection by the glass, with several great bottles from the Loire Valley.

Bonus point: Le Sand serves all day long, with a hotel-style snacking menu ideal for late lunches or fashion crowd hangouts—think club sandwich (€23), grilled cheese (€15), and fresh-baked cookies. Whether it’s lunch, cocktails, or a quick bite, this is the new meeting point for the neighborhood’s stylish regulars.

Open Monday 12 p.m.–5 p.m., Tuesday to Saturday 12 p.m.–12 a.m.

Also check out Babi, the new evening canteen on Rue Mandar, and Cherry, the most stylish Italo–New York table in town.
