Cherry, the chicest Italo-New York table in Paris

Italo-New York restaurants are having a moment ! Meatballs and pasta alla vodka instantly bring to mind that glamorous, sultry vibe straight out of a Scorsese film — the same inspiration behind trendy spots like Osteria Brutto and Red Sauce. But when Indie Group, the team behind Saint-Tropez’s most exclusive addresses, brings its own Parisian version to life, things reach another level. The rendezvous is set at Cherry, on rue du Sabot in the 6th arrondissement, for an intimate high-flying dinner.

Italian-style glamour

You wouldn’t be surprised to see the Corleone family step into the cinematic setting imagined by architect Sarita Posada: dark polished wood, accented with touches of chrome and velvet that add depth and texture. Round banquettes invite big tables, crisp linens dress the tables, and attentive service completes the scene. Unsurprisingly, eager foreigners and stylish Parisians have already made it their hideout for an aperitivo with Sinatra playing in the background , raising a glass of Negroni (€21) or Espresso Martini (€19).

A tavola!

In the kitchen, chef Oscar Aviles Santana (ex-Zuma Dubai) has fun reinterpreting the great classics of Italian gastronomy in New York. It kicks off with meatballs smothered in tomato sauce and dusted with freshly grated parmesan right before your eyes - say stop… or don’t! - (€25), silky vitello tonnato (€28), and a devilishly cheesy parmigiana (€24). Next comes pasta, of course: spicy vodka (€35), limone spaghetti cacio e pepe (€36), and trofie al pesto (€29). For mains: lemon veal scaloppine (€34) and the unmissable milanese (€41). To end on a sweet note : a duo of white and dark chocolate mousse (€16) and a delicious tiramisu (€15). Verdict : chic atmosphere, delicious plates.

Open daily for dinner.
