Do you know everything about Hercule Poirot’s adventures, but what about his creator? The play begins during World War II with Agatha, both the character and storyteller, recounting her life. Through a clever flashback, we meet a spirited young woman (brilliantly portrayed by Camille Favre-Bulle) who stands out with her numerous artistic talents before becoming the mistress of thrillers. Throughout the show, Agatha fervently pursues her dreams of becoming a writer and one day earning the title of “Lady”, a distinction reserved for the nation’s nobility.

Thanks to the intelligent staging by co-author Cristos Mitropoulos, the play delights with its actors (who play multiple characters), costumes, and clever set design that transports you from England to Baghdad, from a plane to a boat, and, of course, aboard the Orient Express. This fast-paced play leaves no moment of rest, culminating in an emotional final scene.

Lady Agatha runs until July 7 at Théâtre de la Michodière, 4 bis rue de la Michodière, Paris 2nd. Information and online booking available.
