The prettiest Breton crêperie in Saint-Germain-des-Prés

Artisan Crepier Paris

Who hasn't ended up in a gloomy Breton crêperie with plastic tablecloths and frozen products, throw the first cider bowl at us. We want glamorous galettes! And lucky for us, the meeting is scheduled in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, facing the covered market, where the beautiful restaurant L'Atelier Artisan Crêpier immediately attracts us with its decor worthy of a Pinterest mood board and its delightful smell of buckwheat, just like the best addresses in Saint-Malo. How do you say "À table!" in Breton?

Stylish decor

Beautiful parquet flooring, comfortable rattan armchairs and sofas, globe wall sconces, trailing plants, cement tiles, and marble-effect tables: the Mabillon restaurant embraces the current interior design obsessions, far from clichés, and plays the card of LOL posters and a laid-back service that makes you feel at ease.

I love galettes, do you know how?

It's not just Candlemas in life. Believing that butter galettes are a delight to be enjoyed all year round, the epicureans behind L'Atelier Artisan Crêpier launched their small empire of 9 restaurants (including 3 in Paris) about ten years ago. Their brilliant idea? Surround themselves exclusively with local small producers to source quality ingredients: stone-ground buckwheat flour (from Moulin du Pavillon), Michel Cluizel chocolate and spread, as well as truffled white ham, all making a real difference here.

Among our favorite recipes: the Alfred topped with salmon tartare, creamed potatoes, shallots, lemon, and chives (€12.90), the Arsène with truffled white ham, free-range egg, and Emmental cheese (€12.90), or the Richard with goat cheese, caramelized apples, and walnut kernels (€11.50), to be enjoyed with delicious artisanal ciders and pear ciders, of course.

Sweet tooths will surely make room for the finger-licking good indulgent crêpes, such as the nostalgic Josette with spreadable chocolate (made by Michel Cluizel, please, €9.50) or the excellent Yvette with caramel, caramelized apples, and homemade whipped cream (€8.90). Mmmmh!

The lunch formula that entices us

No need to spend a fortune on a one-way train ticket to Brittany. The ultimate charming feature of L'Atelier Artisan Crêpier is its unbeatable lunch formulas with galette + crêpe + glass of cider or apple juice (€16.50 for the simple Tradition recipes, €21.50 for the more complex Exception recipes). Psst: Passing by in the neighborhood in the afternoon? It's snack time with waffles, pancakes, and milkshakes that you'll rave about...

Open Monday to Thursday from 11 am to 11 pm, Friday from 11 am to midnight, Saturday from 10:30 am to midnight, and Sunday from 10:30 am to 10 pm.
